Volunteers: The Heartbeat of Rebuild Upstate

Each year, thousands of volunteers help us live out our mission. Our generous volunteers perform critical repairs for our neighbors while having fun and sharing hope with each homeowner along the way.

We offer premier team-building opportunities to help strengthen your team’s connection while making an impact on the community. We couldn’t do what we do without volunteers, so we make it as easy as possible for you or your group to start volunteering.

The Rebuild Upstate team will provide a quick check-in and safety talk before getting started, toolshed full of everything you need, and an on-site leader to guide and teach any skills to complete the project.

Take Your Involvement To The Next Level

When you sponsor your own volunteer project, you allow our team to reallocate funds to support even more neighbors. Like you, we want to be sure we are doing all we can to support our community and we couldn’t do it without you.

Ideally, your group will have at least 7 people excited to learn new skills. We’ll make sure there is plenty to work on so each person feels engaged and busy all day. Once you’ve finalized your date, we’ll help plan the perfect build day!

Community Group Spotlight: St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church

St. Andrew’s Episcopal made outstanding contributions to our organization through both volunteer service and financial support. They’ve truly helped us to sustain our mission, and transform homes and lives in our shared community. Learn more about the impact St. Andrew’s Episcopal has been able to make.

Volunteering Knows No Age Limit

If anyone is over 55 in your group, they could help Rebuild Upstate earn $1000 towards our programming through the RSVP SeniorCorps grant! While this is specific to projects completed in Anderson County, this is a great way to get people of all ages involved in your group.

Don’t Just Take Our Word for It

Learn About the Volunteer Experience Straight From the Source

It warms our hearts to hear about the experiences that our beloved volunteers have with us, with our clients, and with each other. We think it’ll warm yours too. As you read our volunteers’ stories, you’ll notice some common themes like fun, hope, gratitude, and service, just to name a few.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here is everything you need to know from how to prepare for your build day and what to expect. The Rebuild Upstate team is here to answer any questions and help you plan your next project!

Our greatest volunteer needs include sponsored build days and skilled individuals who are willing to work in small groups (Handyman Club) or facilitate other volunteers through a build day (Site Leaders).

Leveling up your build includes financial sponsorship. It is not required to commit when you inquire about dates. Our team can work alongside your business or church to provide additional information. In certain cases, it can be required to hold your preferred date if our other funding sources are all allocated.

There is no change to your build experience – both get a fully planned project with materials and expert guidance, but Sponsors get additional marketing perks (listed above). Plus, you volunteer proudly knowing your dollars are stretching our limited funding resources and helping make repairs possible for another neighbor
