Building on the Foundation

Building on the Foundation

A Bold Commitment to the Future

At the heart of our mission is the belief that safe homes are the cornerstone of strong communities. As we look to the future, we are excited to announce a bold step toward expanding our ability to repair homes to safety with the purchase of a new warehouse facility. This 6,000-square-foot facility will serve as the foundation for growing our impact, enabling us to store, organize, and distribute essential tools and materials more efficiently.

With this new space, we can scale our operations, respond more swiftly to urgent repair needs, and provide volunteers with the resources they need to succeed. It’s more than just a warehouse—it’s a hub for building hope, restoring dignity, and empowering families. By investing in this facility, we are making a lasting commitment to the future of home repair, ensuring that we can continue serving our community for years to come.

Frequently Asked Questions

For 18 years, Rebuild Upstate has operated its home repair program within 1400 square feet of community building space in Greenville. Without the necessary room for storage, parking, or office space, the opportunity for mission growth is limited. Without adequate facilities, we cannot repair more homes and serve more people.

  • The purchase price was $404,450 and total cost of acquisition was $417,539.50 (inclusive of all fees, reports, and closing costs). $343,782.50 was the amount we took out in a mortgage after our down payment. To cover this cost plus upgrades and maintenance, we must raise $500,000 over the next 3 years in our first capital campaign endeavor.
  • We are already utilizing the warehouse for program staff offices, truck and trailer parking, and to store reusable metal ramps. The central location of the space makes it easier to mobilize to the farthest corners of our service area.
  • We anticipate repairing an additional 100 homes per year once our warehouse facility is fully operational. Rebuild Upstate currently serves an average of 150 homes per year.

The majority of our projects involve building ramps and decks and converting tubs to walk-in showers. Therefore, treated lumber, plumbing fixtures such as toilets and walk-in-showers, extendable shower heads and grab bars will be high-use items in storage.

We will also utilize a Tool Room for impact drivers and drills, miter saws, augers, screws and bits, and everything in between!

You can shop for us! Check out our Amazon Wish List for the warehouse.

  • We plan to utilize about 900 square feet of the warehouse specifically for various lengths of lumber on shelves.
  • We are excited to begin utilizing the warehouse for on-site volunteer training for Site Leaders and members of our Handyman Club. We also anticipate utilizing a few volunteers for everything from sorting building materials to organizing tool trailers and washing our Rebuild Upstate trucks! To inquire about these volunteer opportunities, please reach out to Natalie Buck at [email protected].
  • Thank you for your willingness to support our work through in-kind donations. Please reach out to Rose at [email protected] for more information.
