Why Your Monthly Donations Matter

We’ve said it before and will say it again: monthly giving is the most powerful way to give.

We call our monthly donors Porch Partners. Why did we choose this name? For many, a porch is a symbol of community. It’s a neighborly wave, a meal delivered, or enjoying a glass of that southern sweet tea with a friend.

For us, a porch means so much more. Before a porch can symbolize community, it needs to provide safety. A porch needs to be a safe way in and out of the home. It needs to be a place where caretakers can come inside. It needs to not collapse from under you when you go to get the mail.

Porch Partners are our best friends – the champions who choose to make a monthly donation. We currently have 56 of these friends donating monthly, contributing enough to pay for one needed repair each month.

Why does monthly giving matter, again?

  • Monthly support provides Rebuild Upstate with safety and stability month to month.
  • We’re allowed to plan repairs for the future because we know we can count on donations that are coming to us down the line.
  • Consistent financial support means we can make a promise to a homeowner we know we can keep.

The best part about becoming a Porch Partner is that you’re in the driver’s seat – you’re in control of your generosity. As a monthly donor, you choose an amount to give and it’s automatically donated each month. You maintain control of your donations through a donor account, which lets you update an amount, turn them off, update credit card info, skip a month, and more.

Which level is the best fit for you? Sweet Tea ($20/month), Rocking Chair ($25/month), Porch Swing ($50/month), Wraparound ($100).

A Porch Partner’s commitment to our stability is the ultimate act of community. We hope you’ll consider becoming a Porch Partner. You’ll get an exclusive monthly newsletter and other Rebuild Upstate merchandise when you join.

Now through the end of the year, new Porch Partners get a branded Christmas ornament.

We count on reliable tools to complete critical repairs but, ultimately, the best tool we have is you. Your volunteerism, your advocacy, and your contributions keep our home repair program alive.
