Throughout Volunteer Appreciation Week, April 20th-26th, 2025, Rebuild Upstate honors volunteers and entities for their commitment and service.
This is part two of a series that recognizes volunteers for their efforts. This post focuses on awards awarded annually to businesses, churches, or other organizational community partners. A list of individuals honored in part two of our series is available here.
Home Repair Champion Award
Awarded to Grace & Peace Presbyterian Church
The Home Repair Champion Award is presented to a team whose significant financial contributions continue to impact affordable housing in the Upstate.
After major shifts in local and federal funding in the summer of 2023, Rebuild Upstate launched a Bridge the Gap campaign to raise critical funds to continue our work. Grace & Peace agreed to put up a $40,000 match as their first donation to our mission, encouraging other community members to donate and support our campaign. With their help, we bridged the gap and then some. Since then, G&P has continued monthly giving, scheduled volunteer build days, and allowed us to share our mission directly to their congregants during Sunday service.
By the end of spring, they will surpass $100k in philanthropic giving to Rebuild Upstate. That’s tremendous. We’ve had the honor of hosting the youth of Grace & Peace, pictured here, last summer for two days of various repair projects on a local home.
