15th Anniversary Kickoff
On Thursday, September 16th, Rebuild Upstate officially kicks off its 15th year repairing homes in Upstate, South Carolina.
Rebuild Upstate has made more than 1,200 homes safer, healthier, and more livable. Support of this program comes from community donors and more than 10,000 volunteers who helped complete 2,787 unique repair projects. Repairs include roof repair and replacement, aging-in-place modifications, HVAC replacement, window replacement, structural repairs, and more critical health and safety repairs.
The organization’s roots began in disaster relief and recovery in New Orleans in 2006. The team quickly learned there wasn’t just a need for home repair in Upstate, SC. There was also a community willing to invest in an organization like Rebuild Upstate to facilitate those repairs. In 2007, the organization repaired its first home in the Upstate and hasn’t stopped since. Now, Rebuild Upstate serves older adults, veterans, widows, families with children, and other low-income and vulnerable populations.
Rebuild Upstate believes the best home for a homeowner who is at-risk in the affordable housing crisis is the home they already own. To that end, Rebuild Upstate provides volunteers and materials to make homes safe, healthy, and sustainable for our neighbors in need. By exclusively focusing on home repairs and improvements, they allow residents to remain in their homes to maintain stability and dignity.
To celebrate the 15th anniversary milestone year, Rebuild Upstate is encouraging supporters to make a milestone donation of $15, $150, or $1,500. Give now.
