Westminster Presbyterian Church Sponsors An Accessibility Ramp

Faith-based partnerships are powerful for mission-driven organizations like Rebuild Upstate. When members embrace and act out their faith through hands-on service, congregations and surrounding communities thrive.

Westminster Presbyterian Church is one such mission-driven organization. They identify key 5 pillars central to their faith and service: hospitality, joy, generosity, justice, and imagination. Rebuild Upstate has certainly felt alignment with these pillars when sharing the build site with Westminster Presbyterian. Their members have consistently served with Rebuild Upstate since 2022, hosting several impactful build days with their congregants and nearing $35,000 in funding for critical home repairs.

Their latest volunteer experience was led by Nick Carson, Associate Pastor, who says:

“We volunteer with Rebuild Upstate because we know that affordable housing is one of the biggest challenges facing our community today. We believe in the importance of helping folks stay in the places they already are, investing our time and resources in our neighbors, and finding creative solutions to the challenge of affordable housing.”

A dedicated team from their men’s group spent a full day building an accessibility ramp for an older adult living with mobility limitations. Once unsteady leaving the home, this homeowner can now hold onto a secure railing every time they go in or out. Westminster Presbyterian’s financial sponsorship of the build day furthered this impact by helping Rebuild Upstate afford the materials and oversight of the repair.

We’re grateful the members and leadership of Westminster Presbyterian who go the extra mile to express hospitality, joy, generosity, justice, and imagination while serving someone in need.
