Rebuild Upstate Invests in Homeowner Services

Rebuild Upstate has made the application process simpler by creating three clear program tracks for homeowners: Critical Home Repairs, Ramps and Decks, and Aging in Place. After filling out one universal application, homeowners will be matched with the program that best fits their needs.

The new process, implemented in summer 2025, also helps us make the most of available funding, improve reporting to funders, and cut down on wait times for applicants.

These updates come alongside new software that makes it easier to track applications and project progress. Together, these are the biggest changes we’ve made since expanding beyond ramps, and they lay the groundwork for future growth.

Homeowners can now:

  • Apply and submit required documents through a secure online portal
  • Check their application status in real time
  • Be matched with a program that increases their chances of receiving the right funding for their repair needs

Program eligibility remains the same: homeowners must live in Anderson, Greenville, Oconee, or Pickens County, have a household income at or below 80% AMI, and no one in the home can be a registered sex offender.

“These changes are more than just updates to our process, they’re an investment in the families we serve,” said Rebuild Upstate Chief Executive Officer Jake Beaty. “By making it easier for homeowners to apply and connecting them with the right funding more quickly, we’re strengthening our ability to provide safe, healthy homes across the Upstate.”

These changes come at a time when the organization is investing broadly in homeowner services, equipping a warehouse to serve as its growing hub for programs in the Upstate.
