Nuts & Bolts with Clear Mountain Properties

For Clear Mountain Properties, housing is part of the everyday work. But on a recent volunteer day with Rebuild Upstate, their team experienced a different side of what it means to help someone feel secure at home.

The Clear Mountain Properties team traded their usual workday for tool belts and drills to build a new deck for a local homeowner. By the end of the day, their hard work provided safe and stable access to the home.

That connection between housing and quality of life is one the Clear Mountain Properties team knows well.

“At Clear Mountain Properties, we believe housing is more than a building—it’s the foundation for pride, well-being, and stability. Spending the day alongside Rebuild Upstate made that belief tangible. Our team was grateful for the chance to roll up our sleeves together and help a neighbor feel safer and more secure in the place they call home. We left with the reminder that when people show up for one another, even one day of service can make a lasting difference. We’re proud to support Rebuild Upstate’s work and are thankful to have played a small part in strengthening our community,” said Zach Shulruff, Partner at Clear Mountain Properties

For Rebuild Upstate, projects like this one are an important part of keeping our neighbors safely in the homes they already know and love. Critical repairs can become difficult or impossible for homeowners to take on alone, but the investment of local businesses and volunteers helps close that gap.

Clear Mountain Properties supported the project both financially and through hands-on service, allowing their investment to move directly from resources to results. That kind of partnership helps Rebuild Upstate take on more repairs while connecting local businesses with the people and communities their support directly impacts.

“When a team like Clear Mountain Properties shows up ready to work, it gives us the capacity to take on more projects and serve more homeowners,” said Jake Beaty, CEO of Rebuild Upstate. “That willingness to jump in and be part of the work i

s what keeps our mission moving forward.”

That impact continues long after the tools are packed away. A safer entrance, a stable deck, or another critical repair can help a homeowner stay independent, reduce safety risks, and keep living in their home with dignity.

Nearly half of Rebuild Upstate’s home repair and accessibility projects last year were funded and built through corporate and community partnerships. More than a thousand volunteers join us each year to turn that support into completed repairs for homeowners across the Upstate.

We’re grateful to Clear Mountain Properties for being part of that work, not only by investing in our mission, but by showing up and building alongside us.
