A Calling to Make A Lasting Impact: Mauldin Methodist Church

Faith-based partnerships are powerful for mission-driven organizations like Rebuild Upstate. When members embrace and act out their faith through hands-on service, congregations and surrounding communities thrive.

Mauldin Methodist Church has consistently served with Rebuild Upstate since 2018, hosting many impactful build days through their youth program and surpassing $40,000 in funding for critical home repairs. In their multi-year partnership with Rebuild Upstate, Mauldin Methodist has completed repair projects at more than 10 homes, improving the lives of low-income and older adult neighbors by making the homes safe again.

Each summer, Mauldin Methodist students between middle and high school ages spend several days completing multiple repair projects together. As they demo and rebuild, they learn how to problem-solve with newly acquired skills.

They’re led by Pastor Jon Brooks, Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries, who says:

“We love working with Rebuild Upstate. They make the volunteer process easy by matching us to a homeowner, providing tools, water, as well as goggles and gloves if needed for projects, and providing volunteer coordinators to oversee the projects. They also have a lot of patience working with our youth as we teach them valuable life skills. Not only do our youth get to grow in confidence in their abilities, but they also get to make a difference in someone’s life in their community, and they also get to share the love of Christ with someone who may need hope. That difference can also go further when we are able to financially support build days, which frees up resources for other projects, so we try to do that when we can as we send out teams to work!”

We’re grateful the members, leadership, and youth of Mauldin Methodist choose to answer the call to love their neighbors with Rebuild Upstate.
