In 2006, Melanie attended her first mission trip with her youth group to Houma, Louisiana. The group spent a week supporting safe housing through hurricane relief efforts. Since that summer, Melanie has been involved with home repair missions as a volunteer, camp counselor, AmeriCorps VISTA, and now a full-time staff member at Rebuild Upstate. Engaging with missions as a young adult inspired her to pursue a career in nonprofit management. Melanie recently graduated with her Masters of Business Administration with emphasis in nonprofit management from Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. Prior to that, she attended Kent State University and received a Bachelor of Arts in Conflict Management in 2014. As an Ohio native, Melanie grew up playing ice hockey, so feel free to make as many Ohio State jokes you want (she most likely won’t understand them anyway).
“My favorite part of Rebuild Upstate is working with the community so dedicated to supporting its neighbors in need.”
