In 2006, Melanie attended her first mission trip with her youth group to Houma, Louisiana. The group spent a week supporting safe housing through hurricane relief efforts. Since that summer, Melanie has been involved with home repair missions as a volunteer, camp counselor, AmeriCorps VISTA, and now a full-time staff member at Rebuild Upstate. Engaging with missions as a young adult inspired her to pursue a career in community development. Melanie graduated with her Masters of Business Administration in 2017 with an emphasis in nonprofit management from Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. Prior to that, she attended Kent State University and received a Bachelor of Arts in Conflict Management in 2014.
“My favorite part of Rebuild Upstate is working with the community so dedicated to supporting its neighbors in need.”
